Leave & Absence Management

The Leave Management module allows staff to request time off and enables administrators to track absences across the institution.

Requesting Leave

Staff members can submit leave requests directly from their profile or via the Staff > Leave page.

Leave Types:

  • Annual Leave: Planned vacation time.
  • Sick Leave: Unplanned medical absence.
  • Maternity / Paternity: Family-related leave.
  • Unpaid Leave: Special absences outside of standard benefits.

Approval Workflow

  1. Submission: Staff member submits a request with dates and a reason.
  2. Review: The supervisor or HR manager is notified to review the request.
  3. Outcome: Requests are either Approved, Rejected, or sent back for Clarification.

Tracking & Balances

Administrators can view:

  • Leave Balances: Current remaining days for each staff member.
  • Absence Calendar: A school-wide view of who is currently on leave, helping with substitute teacher planning.

Substitute Planning

When a teacher's leave is approved, the system automatically prompts for the assignment of a substitute teacher to their scheduled classes.
