Managing Platform & Tenant Users
The Backoffice Portal provides a global view of all users across the EducaSphere ecosystem, including platform-level administrators and organization-specific accounts.
Users Directory
The Users Directory allows platform administrators to monitor user activity, manage account statuses, and troubleshoot access issues.
Hint: The directory displays User Name, Email, User Type, Status, and their associated Organization (Tenant).
Searching and Filtering
Administrators can use the following tools to find users:
- Search: Filter by name or email address.
- User Type Filter: Categorize by platform role (e.g., Super Admin, Tenant Admin, Staff, Student).
- Status Filter: View Active, Inactive, or Suspended accounts.
User Account Types
EducaSphere categorizes users into several distinct types at the platform level:
Platform Administrators (Super Admins)
These users have full access to the Backoffice Portal and can manage all tenants, schools, and platform-wide settings.
Organization Administrators (Tenant Admins)
These users manage a specific organization (tenant). While they primarily use the main EducaSphere app, their accounts can be managed here for platform-level support.
Institutional Users
Staff, Teachers, and Students associated with specific schools. These are typically managed at the tenant level, but platform admins can view and suspend these accounts if necessary.
Administrative Actions
Through the Actions menu, platform admins can:
- View Profile: Access detailed user information, including account metadata and last activity timestamp.
- Edit User: Update a user's name, phone number, or system role.
- Manage Account Status:
- Suspend: Immediately block a user's access to all EducaSphere services.
- Activate: Restore access for a previously suspended or inactive account.
- Reset Password: Initiate a password reset flow for a user.
Provisioning New Users
While most users are created via tenant-level onboarding or the CLI (for Super Admins), platform admins can create users directly using the Create User button.
Requirements:
- Full Name & Email: Essential identity information.
- User Type: Defines the permissions and scope of the user.
- Organization (Optional): If the user is being assigned to a specific tenant, the tenant must be selected. Platform-level admins do not require a tenant assignment.
